How to Instagram Part 6:HOW TO BOOST

Getting in Front of YOUR Audience

Hello and thank you for reading my blog.

Welcome to Part 6 of the "How to Instagram" Series. I am going to tell you today about a service that everyone may have seen on Facebook & Instagram. It is the "Boost Post" button that FB & IG have been giving you the option to press on some or all of your posts. They tease you with previews of ads that could be. After you see this button, 3 things may have happened. You scrolled by and didn't click it or You clicked it, didn't understand it, so you backed up before starting or you clicked it and made it all the way through the boost post feature and now you are reading my blog to make sure you did it correctly. All are great reasons to keep reading, so here we go.

First let me explain what a Boost is and why they are great!

Directly from Facebook: "Boosted posts are ads you create from posts on your Facebook Page. Boosting a post may help you get more people to react, share and comment on it. You may also reach new people who are likely interested in your Page or business, but don't currently follow you."

Boosted posts also allow you to CHOOSE YOUR AUDIENCE which will help you to be in front of your target market. Being in front of the right people will help you to sell your products, services and listings faster. Another great thing about boosting your posts is that it gives your great control of your budget and once the boost starts running, you can see where your money is being spent through the analytics page. You also don't have to spend thousands or even hundreds of dollars on boosts. You can go as low as $1 per day on each boost.

Facebook does have a full tutorial on how to Boost Posts, but I am going to break it down below for you. First let me address why I  keep saying Facebook in my Instagram Series. The reason is that Facebook owns Instagram and that is why the 2 platforms crossover so well. Facebook and Instagram Boosts do "Cross Post: to each platforms as well, but Facebook in my opinion, is a better place to boost a post because it  records more data on it's users and therefore will be better at targeting you market. It is easy to see in the bio that you fill out for Instagram vs the bio for Facebook. Facebook asks for and allows much more information. Here is an interesting article about Facebook's data collection and advertising that was published in Business Insider. This is how Facebook learns what you buy at physical stores in order to show you relevant ads — and how to opt out
